Latinitas Teen Media Academy

Time: 9:30am to 4:30pm
Calling all aspiring female journalists and media producers. Latinitas is hosting a week-long Spring Break camp for high school girls with intensive instruction from media producers. As part of the camp, your work will be published on TeenLatinitas.com. During the camp, you will complete an article, photo essay, blog, audio podcast and a video broadcast. The cost for the week-long camp is $25 which covers supplies and snacks. A limited number of scholarships are available. Pre-registration is required. Latinitas Spring Break Camp 2010

Time: 9am to 5pm
Cost: $125 for week
Music reporters get to meet their favorite singers and bands...and they get paid to do so! Latinitas is inviting any girl in 7th, 8th and 9th grades to join us for a week of Get Your Backstage Pass! Spring Break Camp at the Latinitas Office (1107 S. 8th Street), March 15-19, 9am-5pm daily. Campers will be interviewing local musicians, starting a music blog, creating their own radio show, learning what it takes to be a vee-jay, producing their own music channel, while also learning web and graphic design, video production. $125 for the week, discounts for families and limited scholarships available. Fotos de Mi Alma

Time: 6 to 9 pm
Fotos de Mi Alma is Latinitas’ premiere annual fundraising event. The photography auction will feature works from nationally renowned professional photographers, as well as local artists, see the artists who participated in the 2009 Fotos de Mi Alma event below. The photos featured at the event showcase the many facets of Latino culture from religion to architecture to family life, in both literal and abstract fashion. The evening will also include Latino music, wine and light hors d'oeuvres. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Latinitas outreach programs.
