TEEN LATINITAS COUNCIL

Latinitas Magazine's signature outreach program for Latina teens in Austin and El Paso, Texas is its Teen Latinitas Council, a journalism mentorship program where Latina high-school students are mentored and guided by experienced journalists. Currently, Teen Latinitas Council is held throughout Central Texas and in the El Paso region. Teens gather for informal editorial meetings around the city and participate together in cultural, art and music events. We have current openings for high school students who are interested in becoming teen reporters for our magazine. Teen Latinitas Council continues past the school year into the summer and meetings usually take place in the evenings or weekends. Projects include magazine writing, photography, web design, editing and film production. Contact Sandie at teenlatinitas@ yahoo.com for more information about the Austin-based group. To join in the El Paso area, email Alicia. Sign up now to reserve a spot.
